Friendly win over Farul at the Toumba

PAOK defeated Romanian league leaders Farul Constanta 3-0 in a friendly test at the Toumba.

25.03.2023

Razvan Lucescu and Gheorghe Hagi had the opportunity to test some players in action a week before the resumption of league matches following the international break and draw some useful conclusions.

PAOK lined up with Zivkovic between the posts, a central defensive pairing of Kargas-Michailidis, and full-backs Rafa Soares and Joan Sastre. Schwab, Filipe Soares and El Kaddouri were the midfield three, while Taison, Narey and Brandon were the selected attacking trio.

The Double-headed Eagle players started with plenty of enthusiasm, circulating the ball excellently well, and creating several chances, without allowing the opposition to threaten Zivkovic’s goal at the same time.

Brandon Thomas scored the only goal in the first half, the goal coming after a flawless team effort. Narey crossed the final pass into the penalty area and the Spanish forward made it 1-0 with a prodded finish.

In the second half, the pace of the game dropped significantly, with PAOK again having most of the possession and opportunities, however. The most important chance came in the 86th minute with Andre Ricardo hitting the crossbar.

In stoppage time, PAOK grabbed two more goals to add some gloss to the scoreline. Kedziora made two assists from the right within three minutes and Bradonijc and Gordeziani were the players on target.

PAOK lineup: Zivkovic (60′ Talichmanidis), Sastre (46′ Kedziora), Kargas (88′ Moricelli), Michailidis (90′ Tsaousis), Rafa Soares (46′ Vieirinha), Schwab, Filipe (85′ Giaxis), El Kaddouri (67′ Bradonijc), Taison, Narey (46′ Ricardo), Brandon (90′ Gordeziani).
