Razvan Lucescu gave more playing time to several players, and his team looked productive and created scorting chances, but they failed to convert them into goals.

In the first half, many players seemed to have heavy legs with the burden of the tough training sessions of the previous days, but still the game was a balanced affair, with PAOK having the initiative and looking for routes towards the opposition goal.

The Double-headed Eagle had some good moments with Murg, A.Zivkovic and Brandon all having chances within the first 30 minutes, but the Dutch hosts also had their threatening moments and in the 35th minute they took the lead with a header from Lindberg.

PAOK responded well and in the 48th minute, after an assist from Taison, Schwab made it 1-1 with a nice header.

Lucescu’s men then had the upper hand, moving thorugh the lines with purpose, pressing the ball into the opposition half. However, they missed a few important chances via Vrakas, Konstantelias, and Gordeziani, while Taison also hit the post. Go Ahead Eagles then responded and it was trhe Dutch side who found the next goal with Andekania in the 70th minute, the home side scoring from their only notable chance in the second half.

PAOK lineups: Z.Zivkovic (46′ Talichmanidis), Lyratzis (62′ Vieirinha), Nasberg (46′ Michailidis), Ekong (46′ Koulierakis), Rafa Soares (62′ Tsaousis), Douglas (29′ Schwab ), Tsingaras (62′ Giaxis), Murg (62′ Vrakas), Taison (70′ Tzimas), A.Zivkovic (46′ Konstantelias), Brandon (46′ Gordeziani).
