PAOK lined up for the second consecutive match with the same starting XI and entered the pitch determined to achieve their goal and get the three points.

Taison threatened early in the fourth minute, without finding the target, then Mantalos responded with a similar result two minutes later. Mady Camara’s header missed the target shortly afterwards, while a minute later Meite produced a nice piece of play but his final shot ended up in Brignoli’s arms.

AEK had a double chance in the 14th minute with Pereira and Lamela not able to score, while Konstantelias then missed a great opportunity a minute later.

The game featured some strong duels, and was littered with fouls, while there continued to be a lot of tension until the half-time break. There were two good chances before the half-time whistle blew, with Martial in the 32nd minute not able to score from score rane, while on the other hand Giannis Michailides did not miss in the 45th minute. After a free-kick by Andrija Zivkovic, Piero headed the ball away and the Greek central defender collected the rebound and with an incredible right-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area he made it 1-0 and provided the spark for the Toumba to catch fire, dedicating the goal to the captain, Andre Vieirinha.

In the second half, both teams had some good moments in front of goal but failed to find the way to the back of the net. In the 56th minute and 62nd minute, Rota and Martial both missed the target for AEK, while in the 85th minute, Konstantelias’ shot was weak from a good position.

In the 88th minute, Kotarski made a great save from a one-on-one opportunity for Martial, while in stoppage time, Kamara missed a great chance to make it 2-0.

The final whistle signaled the end of an era, with Vieirinha enjoying an idol’s ovation by the Toumba faithful for one last time as a player. At his home. The Toumba Stadium.
