«We lacked determination upfront»
Here is what Igor Tudor said in his press conference after the encounter between Levadiakos and PAOK, corresponding to matchday 14 of the Super League.
On Berbatov’s goal getting disallowed and on refereeing in general:
«Dimitar told me it was no foul. I can’t be sure 100% being on the bench, but he told me so. It’s very nasty to have to judge such stuff. What we can do is focus on our game. I believe there is lots of energy wasted when reacting and getting mad at referees«.
On whether he is satisfied with his players’ performance:
«I can tell you I am not unsatisfied. I guess we deserved something more out of the encounter, having dominated for the most time, having had two big scoring chances with Garry in the first half and Athanasiadis and that goal of Berbatov that was disallowed. I have to admit though that we faced a few problems in the last 20-25 metres. We lacked determination and that makes things difficult«.
On choosing Leovac:
«We could analyze it for hours. The point is that I pick those who are ideal for the given match at the given time. It’s not an issue of chemistry, but who is better now«.
On the team’s physical condition:
«I believe that we were good on that aspect, I didn’t witness any problems of physical condition. I am satisfied with the way my team dominated on the pitch and with our defending. Our rivals didn’t create any chances and that is not easy to accomplish. We only lacked determination upfront«.
On the upcoming transfer window:
«We’ll see. We have many midfielders and lack strikers, but we’ll see what we can do«.
On the condition of Rodrigues and Charisis:
«Both of them complained of pains, Charisis before the match and Garry during the encounter. I am not sure about what is wrong with the latter, I have to consult the medical staff«.
On the position of Tziolis:
«Alexis is a very important player for us. He sacrificed himself today playing at a different position. Today I wanted more attack-minded players in the midfield. Gojko surprised us pleasantly yet again. I always try to pick the best and some players need to make sacrifices and divert from their favourite position in order to help the team«.
On Olsen:
«He was good. We are happy for him«.
