And now it’s back to the cup

The Super League moves into the backseat for a couple of days as PAOK put all their focus towards the Greek Cup. The competition has been very good to them over the last three years with the club’s name etched on it for the last three successive seasons.

10.02.2020

The first match featured the strongest tie of the quarter-finals, and PAOK have the advantage after securing a 2-0 win over Panathinaikos in Thessaloniki, and the Dikefalos tou Vorra head to the ΟΑΚΑ to try and finish the job.

Abel Ferreira has just two days between matches to prepare his charges for the challenge of meeting an opponent who will be giving everything to try and turn the ties around.

The players who featured against OFI on Sunday remained in the gym and swimming pool on Monday as part of their wind-down and recuperation training program. Fernando Varela and Dimitris Giannoulis had treatment from the physiotherapists due to some minor knocks that they are dealing with following the win over OFI.

Dimitris Pelkas training individually and his participation in the second leg match against the Greens will depend on how he trains on Tuesday (11.02). Messrs Crespo and Jaba both continued their treatments for their respective injuries.

The rest of the group trained as normally out on the training pitches, rolling up their sleeves ahead of Wednesday’s bit contest. Ferreira and his coaching staff prepared a rigorous exercise routine for the players to follow which included running, possession games and passing drills, as well as some work on finishing skills.

On Tuesday (11.02) the Dikefalos tou Vorra will train again at 14:00 at the Toumba before departing for Athens from the Makedonia airport in the afternoon.
