Happy Birthday Dimitri!
Our midfielder Dimitris Limnios turns 22 today, and PAOK FC would like to wish him many years of health, happiness and successes on both a personal and professional level.
Dimitris was born on May 27, 1998 in Volos and made his first steps in football at the youth academy of Niki Volos. In 2012 a scout from Atromitos was impressed with his performances and the Athens club moved to sign him.
He entered the development squads of the Peristeri club and after just one year he began training with the first team. He soon made his full competitive debut for the club, which came On October 16, 2014 at 16 years of age when he came off the bench to replace Andreas Tatos in a match against Ergotelis. By the end of the season he made one more appearance from the bench, while also playing for the Under-20 side in parallel as one of the leading players in that team.
He continued his impressive displays in the following season, making 14 appearances for the senior time. One of those was an impressive European debut in a match against AIK Stockholm in the Europa League qualifying round.
In the 2016-17 season he became a regular starter, making 32 appearances and contributing three assists, while against Larissa on April 6 2017 he scored his first competitive goal of his career at the top level. His displays attracted the attention of the bigger clubs, and PAOK’s overtures for his signature won the battle to sign him.
He has represented Greece at every youth level and has been a regular for Antonis Nikopolidis’ Under-21 side, while last year he made his debut for the full senior Greece national team in a friendly match against Saudia Arabia.
Over the last three years in a PAOK shirt he has won almost everything. He has represented the club 101 times, scoring 10 goals while serving up 11 assists. Dimitris has established himself as a vital cog in the team and has won two Greek Cups and a Super League winners medal.
Happy Birthday The Future!
