- Their first two-legged clash came in the 1989-90 season in the Round of 16, with Olympiacos claiming qualification on penalties (5-3) following a 1-0 win for PAOK at the Toumba and a 1-0 win for Olympiacos in Piraeus.

- The last time PAOK and Olympaicos met in the Greek Cup was the 2015-16 season, again in the semi-finals of the competition. After the incidents that occurred in the first leg between the two teams at the Toumba, PAOK opted not to participate in the return match at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, and the Piraeus side were awarded the match on paper and thus progressed to the final.
