  • This is the fifth time that PAOK and Larissa are facing each other in the Greek Cup. While the ‘history’ of ties between them began in 1985 when Larissa prevented the Double-headed Eagle from completing a domestic double, it was the Thessaly club’s only success.
  • In each of the next three meetings, PAOK claimed qualification to the next round comfortably, and this year it’s very much the same with PAOK holding a 5-0 win at the Toumba in the first leg. Larissa have won just once in six matches and that was a 2-0 success in the 1990-91 season, after they had already lost the first leg 3-0 at the Toumba.
  • There was also a 1-1 draw at the Toumba in the 2003-04 season (10’ Giasemakis – 42’ Tsakmakidis) and four wins for PAOK (along with this season’s) without conceding a goal.
  • On March 10 1991 at the Toumba, PAOK won 3-0 (41’ Λαγωνίδης, 78’ Μπορμπόκης, 83’ Καραγεωργίου) in the quarter-finals.
  • In the 2003-04 season, the 1-1 at the Toumba was followed up with a victory at the Alkazar via 3-0 (14’ Χάγκαν, 41’ Σπάσιτς, 86’ Γιασεμάκης) scoreline to progress into the second round.
  • In the 2016-17 season, PAOK faced Larissa in the group stage for the first time. The match was a one-legged tie and took place at the Toumba, with the Double-headed Eagle winning 2-0 (28’ Mystakidis, 41’ Pereira).
