International call-ups and fixtures
National teams around the world are preparing for the November international fixtures which will be the last ones of 2021, and paokfc.gr presents in detail which PAOK players have been selected to represent their countries and when they will be playing.
Greece have two matches in their unlikely bid to qualify for the 2022 World Cup at home against Spain (11.11, 21:45) and Kosovo (14.11) at the OAKA, and they need two victories to have any remote hopes of making it. Alexandros Paschalakis is included in John van ‘t Schip’s squad for the two crucial matches.
Andrija Zivkovic, meanwhile, will strengthen the efforts of Serbia against Portugal (14.11, 21:45) away in a ‘derby’ clash which is expected to decide first place in the group and direct qualification to the World Cup finals. The Serbs will also play on Thursday (11.11, 19:00) in a friendly with Qatar in Belgrade.
There are key matches for both Albania and Poland with both teams fighting for qualification. They are separated by just one point, with the latter in the lead. The Poles have Karol Swinderski among their squad selected by Paolo Souza for their trip to face Andorra (12.11, 21:45), while in their final match they play host to Hungary (15.11, 21:45) in Warsaw. The Albanians have Enea Mihaj in their squad to face England (12.11, 21:45) at Wembley first, which will be followed by a home match against Andorra (15.11, 21:45).
Slovenia, who have already been mathematically eliminated from reaching the World Cup, will complete their group commitments with an away game in Slovakia (11.11, 21:45) and a home game against Cyprus (14.11, 16:00), and they will have Jasmin Kurtic in their squad.
Four PAOK players were called up by Greece Under-21boss George Simos for their European Championship qualifers. Giannis Michailidis, Charis Tsingaras, Lefteris Lyratzis, and Marios Tsaousis were called up for the games against Belarus (12.11,16: 00) and Iceland (16.11,16: 00) which will take place at the Theodoros Kolokotronis Stadium in Tripoli.
There are European Championship qualifiers for the Greece Under-19s, and the squad also has a heavy shade of black and white. Head coach Tassos Theos has brought in Tito Koutentakis, Konstantinos Koulierakis, Giorgos Koutsias and Nikos Spyrakos for the matches in the second qualifying group, which will take place in Patras and Nafpaktos. The first match with Russia takes place on 10.11 (15.00), and it is followed by a clash with the Faroe Islands (13.11) and then Germany (16.11).
