The first candidate up for the prize is Alexandros Paschalakis, who has an established tradition in this particular award. In the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup at the Toumba against AEK, Zuber raced clean through on goal and was one-on-one with The Goldkeeper. However, Paschalakis came out on top to deny the AEK man with an impressive save.
The next contender is Alexandru Mitrita. In the match against Volos at the Panthessaliko, the Romanian collected a through-ball from Douglas, entered the penalty area and timed his assist to Akpom perfectly, with the Englishman scoring from close range.
Finally, there’s also Ingi Ingason. In the derby against Olympiacos, The Icelander produced a piece of defending that resembled a play from the basketball court. Androutsos surged forward and was closing in on Paschalakis’ goal – until The Iceman stopped the visiting defender in his tracks with an impressive sprint and tackle to put the ball out for a corner.
