PAOK defeated Volos 3-1 in a friendly match at the Toumba on Saturday (13.08).

Razvan Lucescu saw his players take to the field in a match situation for the first time since their European exit and was able to check on his team’s progress just a week before the start of the 2022-23 Super League campaign.

PAOK took the lead in the 20th minute when Brandon Thomas squared the ball from the right for Diego Biseswar to score. Then, in the 54th minute, Omar El Kaddouri produced a slick piece of individual play to set up Neslon Oliveira, who scored with a first-time effort to make it 2-0. In the 65th minute, Paolo Fernandes reduced the deficit to 2-1 with an impressive strike, but in stoppage time, Giorgos Koutsias scored a penalty to restore the two-goal advantage and make the final score 3-1.

First half: Kotarski, Lyratzis, Ingason, Kargas, Tsaoussis, Schwab, Dantas, Douglas, Biseswar, Narey, Thomas.
