PAOK U17 – Olympiacos U17: Mixed zone

Here is what the members of PAOK U17’s delegation said after the final whistle of the semi-final against Olympiacos.

19.05.2017

PAOK legend and team manager of the U17s Stavros Sarafis spoke to Novasports TV about the semi-final between PAOK and Olympiacos. He said that both teams produced fine football and, despite their obvious quality, they engaged in a rather physical game.

He also answered the question about these guys’ future: “In Greece, this generation of players needs our help and support in order to progress, because unfortunately they don’t get many opportunities for senior football”.

PAOK U17 coach Vasilis Mittas congratulated the winners and said that it was an even match and that a draw would be a fair result: “Penalty shoot-outs are not the most enjoyable of procedures, but our players need to get used to that as well, as part of their formation”. He also said that PAOK created chances to score, but their finishing was off. As for the future? “All four teams of the Final Four are excellent and we will sure be hearing about these players in the future”.

PAOK U17 co-captain Alexandros Gargalatzidis said that details decided a match against two very good sides: “We worked hard this season as well, but unfortunately defeats are also on the menu and we would better get used to that as well”. He also congratulated Olympiacos for their victory and stated that “our team has quality players and a fine future ahead”.
