Time to move on
The derby at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium was a match when PAOK could have either put themselves back in the title race, or prove to be a learning point for the rest of the season.
The final result does not leave much room for a comeback, but the way the team played showed that the team is on the right track.
Of course, the final stretch of the game when PAOK conceded two quickfire goals was a blot on the performance overall, but there were many positive points from the Double-headed Eagle from the match against Olympiacos that demonstrated the team’s ongoing development.
And so, despite the understandable disappointment, PAOK will continue to work hard without losing their concentration. To improve and become stronger, with fewer mistakes and able to go the distance.
The Double headed Eagle squad is now focusing on the upcoming match against Panetolikos at the Toumba Stadium on Matchday 20 of the 2020-21 Super League Interwetten. Worked kicked off in earnest on Thursday (28.01) in Nea Mesimvria.
The players who were in the starting XI at the «Georgios Karaiskakis» remained in the gym, swimming pool and with the physiotherapists for recovery and recuperation, while the rest of the group went out on the field for a high-intensity program with an emphasis on passing and possession.
Shinji Kagawa followed an individual program and from tomorrow Friday (29.01) he will begin full training along with the rest of the squad.
Jose Crespo also trained individually and from tomorrow he will begin his gradual re-introduction to full training. Enea Mihaj continued his treatment and recovery program, while Leo Jaba completed his special training program that he did in Brazil and will return to Thessaloniki.
On Friday (29.01) PAOK will train at 12:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
