Weekly update about the New Toumba

Under the supervision of PAOK FC President Ivan Savvidis, the weekly meeting of the working group for the new stadium took place on Tuesday. AS PAOK representative Dimokratis Papadopoulos was present and the discussions were centered mainly around the proposals of the legal advisors regarding the changes that must be made in the forthcoming Presidential Decree, in order for it to be clear and without any doubts or ambiguity and open the way forward for the construction of a modern, sustainable stadium in place of the existing one.

16.11.2021

In the form that things have recently been examined in collaboration with the responsible ministers and bodies, this has not been happening, and it was decided by PAOK FC to request the suspension of the extradition process until all the necessary changes are incorporated in it, which will clarify the responsibility of each body in the financing of the project, both for the stadium itself and of the surrounding area, and on the other hand in the extended possibilities of land use of the space in general.

For this reason and in order to change several points that are contrary to the agreements so far with the Municipality and the Regional Governor’s Office, it was decided to request letters from the two bodies that will detail the required changes in the Presidential Decree.

At the same time it was decided to create a tender for a ‘master plan’ of the stadium to companies with experience in similar reconstruction projects of stadiums in urban areas.

Finally, the order was given to proceed with the discussions both with the administration of the OAKA and with the administrations of the other candidate stadiums for relocation.
