- PAOK and Aris will face off in the Greek Cup for the 15th time, with the total number of matches having reached 21.
- Two of their meetings were in the final of the competition, with the score between them being 1-1.
- Since 1970, when they faced each other in the final of the Greek Cup and Aris prevailed 1-0, they have not enjoyed ties against the Double-headed Eagle. Since then, they have faced each other seven times and PAOK were victorious in 6 of them, while in the 2003 final they celebrated winning the trophy.
- The two teams met 5 times in the Round of 16 of the competition and another 5 in the quarter-finals. Two of the meetings were in the final of the competition, while there was also one in the Round of 32 and a semi-final.
- On 28 January 2009, their last meeting in the Greek Cup, both legs ended in goalless draws and PAOK finally qualified for the quarter-finals with a 9-8 victory on penalties.
- On 24 March 1940, with Ioannidis scoring for PAOK in extra time (94’) and Kaltsogiannis equalising in the 110th minute, the match went to a replay, where Aris prevailed 1-0 thanks to a goal by Kleanthis Vikelidis to claim the qualification.
- Aris conceded 4 goals on 11 February 1951, in a match that was decided in extra time. Panoutsopoulos (5’) and Kinas (79’) had put Aris ahead, but Mouratidis sent the match into extra time with goals in the 81st and 83rd minutes, and then scored two more, in the 108th and 121st minutes, becoming the player with the most goals in a cup match for PAOK against Aris.
