Educational trip to the Liverpool Academy
As part of continuous training and the exchange of expertise in modern football, PAOK Academy scout Dimitris Taxidis undertook a training trip to the Liverpool FC Academy, from 20.11 to 23.11, participating in a comprehensive program of monitoring and studying the philosophy and operation of one of the leading development models in Europe.
During the visit, Liverpool’s guests attended lectures and presentations by coaches and academy executives, which focused on the role of the academy in the overall structure of the club, the methodology for training players and the way in which the individual needs of each player are addressed. Particular emphasis was placed on the process of improving players as they move from one age group to another, with a clear competitive and developmental continuity.
The organizational structure of the Academy, its day-to-day operation, as well as the collaboration between coaches, analysts, trainers and scouting departments, with the common goal of the holistic development of young athletes, both on and off the pitch, were also presented.
In the practical part of the seminar, there was monitoring of matches in the U-10, U-11 and U-12 age categories, as well as training sessions in the U-11, U-12, U-18 and U-21 sections. Through this process, the opportunity was given to observe in practice the implementation of Liverpool’s coaching philosophy, the progressive development of football players and the requirements set at each age level.
This specific training trip functioned as a substantial high-level seminar, offering valuable knowledge and experiences, which can be utilized in the further development of PAOK’s work in the field of academies and scouting, guided by modern European practices.
