Under-19’s defeat Olympiacos 3-1 and clinch place in last four
PAOK’s Under-19 team comfortably advanced to the semi-finals of the Super League Cup, defeating Olympiacos 3-1 in the quarter-finals in a tie which took place on Saturday afternoon in Souroti. PAOK will next face the winner of the Panaitolikos vs. Panathinaikos match in the semi-finals (they play tomorrow, Sunday).
PAOK’s young guns took the lead in the 18th minute with a goal by Eleftheriadis, after Dunga’s assist, then missed at least three very good chances for a second goal, before Olympiacos equalized in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, the Double-headed Eagle’s youngsters scored two more wonderful goals and essentially locked up the result, while they were not really threatened by their opponents. In the 53rd minute, Gioka made the pass and Aretis scored for 2-1, and in the 69th minute those two players switched roles for the final 3-1.
The next game for PAOK is in the Super League championship, an away game against Panathinaikos on 18.01.
