PAOK FC club statement
Today, January 26, 2026, the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by PAOK FC, the company “Nest of the Double-headed Eagle” and AS PAOK, regarding the construction of the New Toumba Stadium in Toumba.
With this signing, which marks the official start of the new stadium project, the procedures are now underway and the countdown begins for PAOK to acquire its new football home.
The first applications have been immediately submitted to the competent services, starting with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Thessaloniki, meetings are also scheduled with representatives of the Region of Central Macedonia and the Municipality of Thessaloniki, and the procedures are accelerated by the collaborating companies for the preparation of the necessary studies.
There will be a continuous flow of information for all actions related to the construction of the new stadium in Toumba.
Regarding today’s signing of the MoU, CEO and Vice President of PAOK FC, Maria Goncharova, stated the following:
“Today is a historic day for all PAOK fans and for our city, Thessaloniki. The signing of the agreement for the construction of the new stadium is tangible proof that PAOK continues to grow, dream and claim the place it deserves at the top.
The “Nest of the Double-headed Eagle” will be a modern and imposing stadium. It will be the new home where new pages of history will be written, new successes will be celebrated and PAOK will continue to add trophies to its already heavy and glorious trophy cabinet.
I deeply believe that this project is not just about football. It is about the city, society, history and the future. Together, with unity, vision and faith, we are building not just a stadium, but the next great chapter of PAOK. Without big words but with actions and results”.
AS PAOK President Alkiviadis Isaiadis stated:
“Today we have completed the first and absolutely decisive phase concerning the Nea Toumba. A process that began with the historic decision of November 20th at the Board of Directors of AS PAOK and which is now taking shape.
With the signing of the memorandum of cooperation between AS PAOK, PAOK FC and the special purpose vehicle, the first substantial step after that decision was implemented today. We signed with the special purpose vehicle established by PAOK FC’s major shareholder, Mr. Ivan Savvidis, paving the way for the future of our club.
Our goal is clear: for PAOK to acquire the stadium it deserves. A stadium worthy of its history, its dynamics and its people. The Nea Toumba is not just an infrastructure project; it is a vision of decades, which today enters into a trajectory of implementation.
I want to express my sincere wish and expectation to the major shareholder of PAOK FC, Mr. Ivan Savvidis, to continue the work that he has offered to the club all these years, with the same determination and love for PAOK.
I call on all the forces of PAOK to unite. Administrations, bodies, and fans. The Nea Toumba project concerns us all.
No one is left behind. PAOK moves forward united.”
