Awaiting news of opponents to adjust the schedule
A short break for some sleep on Wednesday night and then it was back out on the training pitches in Nea Mesimvria on Thursday morning. Because although the Dutch training camp is over, pre-season is not.
PAOK continue to work hard towards the club’s first official competitve game of the season that will be for the qualifiers of the UEFA Europa Conference League, and on Thursday (29.07) evening, the Double-headed Eagle squad will find out who their opponents will be – Dudelange or Bohemians. Based on who goes through, PAOK’s program will be adjusted accordingly. In the case that the Irish team go through, PAOK’s 2021-22 season premiere will take place on Tuesday 03 August instead of 05.08.
Razvan Lucescu wants his team to be in the best shape it can be at the start of the season and he is striving every day to help his players master the new style of play that he wants to see the team produce.
For this reason, Thursday’s (29.07) training was again focused on tactics. This time the emphasis was on the team’s defensive setup and operation, as well as pressing with the aim of stealing the ball and regaining possession quickly.
Ingi Ingason continued his individual rehabilitation program with some running exercises on the practice pitches, as did Douglas Augusto , while Jose Angel Crespo stayed in the gym for his recovery program.
On Friday (30.07) PAOK will train again at 09:00 at the club’s Nea Mesimvria sports center.
