An “old” acquaintance who trained with the philosophy of the PAOK Academy, Giorgos Vrakas returned to PAOK in 2020 – after two years in Italy, signing a contract with the Double-headed Eagle initially until 2023, and eventually until 2025.

Vrakas was born on April 28, 2001 in Ioannina and from an early age joined the Academies of AO Ioannina. In 2014, he took the big step and became a member of the PAOK Academy. He impressed in all age categories in a black and white shirt – he was of course also a constant presence in the Greece youth national teams – and in 2017 he made his debut with the first team in a game against Aeginaikos in the Greek Cup. In fact, he became the second youngest player to debut for PAOK, at the age of 16 years and seven months.

He left the club in August 2018 to join Napoli’s second team. In two years in Italy, Vrakas made 20 appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists. In the summer of 2020, he decided to return to Greece, with PAOK not missing the opportunity to sign the young attacking midfielder for the next three years.

He was then loaned to Levadeiakos, where he spent two years. In the 2021-22 season he made 34 appearances in Super League 2 and the Greek Cup, scoring five goals, while the following year in Super League 1 he played in 29 games, scoring one goal, making two assists, and even having the honor of being named Levadiakos’ player of the season in a related Super League 1 vote.
