Let paokfc.gr set the scene for you ahead of the Play Offs of the 2025-26 Greek Cup against Atromitos at the Toumba Stadium. Before the big kick-off, read through some interesting background facts and stats, as well as the history of our previous clashes with the Athens club.

  • This is the seventh time that Atromitos will face PAOK in the Greek Cup. In the previous six, PAOK have five qualifications, versus one qualification from the Peristeri team. In these six previous occasions that they have faced each other, only one was a two-legged tie, while there were two with single matches and two in the group stage.
  • Their first meeting was in the 1964-65 season, when on April 4, 1965, PAOK qualified for the Round of 16 of the competition, with a goal by Vasiliadis in the 28th minute, in the match that took place at the Toumba Stadium. Atromitos was then competing in the 1st group of the Second National League.
  • On June 23, 1968, they faced each other in the Round of 16 of the competition, with the Peristeri club again in the Second Division, but this time in the top positions of the standings. Fountoukidis, with a free-kick, gave PAOK the lead, but Sakellaridis equalized in the 77th minute. The score remained 1-1 after extra time and at that time the penalty shootout had not been established in the Greek Cup, as a result of which a draw was made and PAOK were lucky team to qualify.
  • Their next meeting took place on September 21, 1993 for the 5th group of the Greek Cup, with PAOK prevailing 1-0 thanks to a goal by Makis Chavos in the 79th minute.
  • In 2000-01, the Greek Cup groups included matches in both venues, and PAOK and Atromitos were drawn in Group 4. Nikos Frousos scored the only goal of PAOK’s 1-0 victory at the Toumba in the 80th minute. In the match in Athens, Dimitris Nalitzis scored twice (11′, 81′), while Vairoua temporarily equalized for Atromitos.
  • On 25 January 2012, a single match tie was held at the Toumba in the quarter-finals. PAOK took the lead with Linos in the 28th minute and Atromitos equalized with Fitanidis in the 89th minute. In extra time, Brito gave Peristeri the lead in the 91st minute, which they maintained until the end and qualified.
  • In the 2017-18 season, they reached the quarter-finals of the competition and on January 24, 2018, PAOK won 2-0 in Thessaloniki, with goals from Pelkas and Shakhov. In the second game, which took place in Peristeri on February 8, 2018, PAOK won 3-1 thanks to goals from Sakhoff, Kanias and Koulouris.
