Too little, too late for PAOK B...
PAOK B found themselves two goals behind, reduced the deficit, and battled hard afterwards, but they ultimately failed to earn even a point, suffering another defeat, this time against Anagennisi Karditsa onm Matchday 11 of the Super League 2, which was held on Saturday afternoon at the Livadia Municipal Stadium.
The home team took the lead in the second minute, when after a counter-attack, Golias scored from close range to make it 1-0. That was essentially all that the first 45 minutes had to offer, in a game with a slow tempo and very few chances. It is true that PAOK B strugged to recover.
The pattern of play was somewhat different in the second half, with PAOK B moving the ball better. However, Anagennisi, in their first attach on Monastirlis’ goal, managed to score a second goal. In the 56th minute, the home team counter-attacked, after a lost ball in the center area, with Kampetsis scoring to make it 2-0.
It was probably at that point after which PAOK B began to change their performance. They put in the running, pressed, and took measures on the pitch to become threatening. From a corner kick by Tsifoutis, in fact, in the 61st minute, Apiatsionak reduced the deficit with a header.
Danny Ponz’s team continued to press until the last minute of injury time, but unfortunately the equalizer eluded them.
The next game for PAOK B is a home game against PAS Giannina.
