A strong 120-minute test
PAOK drew 3-3 with Go Ahead Eagles in the team’s second friendly on Dutch soil, in a physically demanding match that was played in two 60-minute halves.
Razvan Lucescu had the opportunity to give a full 60 minutes to almost all of his players and to see in practice what he has been working on in training lately with the squad.
The Dutch hosts, being at a more advanced stage in their summer pre-season preparations, came out strong and managed to surprise the visitors by taking the lead in the seventh minute thorugh Edvardsen, but PAOK quickly equalized in the 15th minute. Taison pressed high and stole possession, passed it to Konstantelias and he applied a perfect finish to make it 1-1.
The second part of the first half was a «monologue» with Lucescu’s team doing all the talking, also managing to score two goals in the 34th and 36th minutes.
Initially, after a corner kick from Taison, Kamara headed teh ball across goal and Lovren then nodded it in to make it 2-1, while two minutes later, Konstantelias hit the post fafter a pass from Taison, with the ball falling kindly for Hatsidis to score on the rebound to make it 3-1 to PAOK.
Shortly before the end of the first half, the Dutch pulled a goal back with a deflected shot from distance.
In the second half, the faces of both starting XI’s changed, the Go Ahead Eagles were more threatening, but Jiri Pavlenka in the PAOK goal was there to make some great saves.
In the last part of the match, the Dutch found an equalizing goal in the 112th minute. PAOK then had two good moments via Balde , one of which ended up hitting the woodwork, and the 3-3 scoreline remained the same until the final whistle.
