PAOK players on international duty

Several PAOK players will be busy during the first international break of 2019 and paokfc.gr has all the details on their schedule.

The national team of Greece begin their qualifying campaign in the UEFA Euro 2020 with encounters against Liechtenstein in Vaduz (Saturday 23 March, at 21:45) and against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Zenica (Tuesday 26 March, at 21:45). Angelos Anastasiadis has included Αlexandros Paschalakis and Efthymis Koulouris in his squad.

Greece U21s will play two friendly encounters against Slovakia in Žilina (22 March) and against Montenegro in Rizoupoli (26 March). Head coach Αntonis Nikopolidis has extended calls to PAOK players Dimitris Limnios and Marios Siampanis.

Greece U19s are prepping for their Elite Round matches in England, in their effort to qualify to the finals of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship. They come up against Denmark on 20 March (at 16:30), then face hosts England on 23 March (14:00) and the Czech Republic on 26 March (at 14:00). Giannis Goumas’s troops include seven PAOK players: Lefteris Lyratzis, Μarios Tsaousis, Αlexandros Gargalatzidis, Apostolos Diamantis, Giannis Michailidis, Theocharis Tsiggaras and Αntonis Gaitanidis. All seven featured in Greece U19’s recent friendly encounters in Cyprus.

Greece U17s gear up for their Elite Round matches for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, with seven PAOK players in their ranks: Konstantinos Balomenos , Aventis Aventisian, Panagiotis Panagiotou, Thomas Karamperis, Giannis Karakoutis, Christos Tzolis and Vasilis Grosdis. Greece face Spain (25 March), Ukraine (28 March) and Kosovo (31 March) in Nyon, Switzerland.

Iceland aim to continue their high-flying performances in the Euro 2020 as well. Ingi Ingason has been included in the squad for the outings to Andorra (22 March) and France (25 March).

Cape Verde play their last card for a spot in the 2019 finals of the Africa Cup of Nations. With Fernando Varela in their ranks, they need to win in Lesotho and hope that Tanzania won’t defeat Uganda to secure their qualification.

Poland are prepping for their participation in the final stage of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. With Karol Świderski in the squad, they have two friendly encounters coming up: against England (21 March) and Serbia (26 March).
