Dimitris Pelkas spoke about the reaction of Panionios fans towards him, while also pointing out that PAOK need to go after top spot in the play-offs and secure the ticket for the UEFA Champions League qualifiers:

«It’s the first time that I am the recipient of such chants. I have said again that I acknowledge my mistake and that my celebration was not aimed at Panionios or their fans. It’s been a long time since then and I have been punished for my error. Let me repeat once more that my gesture was not aimed at Panionios.

Of course we will make it until the end. Nothing else will do. There are two matches remaining and we must give it all to get top spot in the play-offs. The Greek Cup was our priority, but as members of PAOK we want to bring the club to the UEFA Champions League qualifiers once again.

Securing six points in the encounters against Panionios was of vital importance. Now we hold our fate in our own hands«.
