“With the same mentality”
Read on paokfc.gr what Maurício said to Novasports TV, one day before the encounter against PAS Giannina in Zosimades Stadium.
On winning in Agrinio:
«Our last game was very tough. The team ran a lot, did a good job. After such games, recuperation is hard. But now I feel fine, so does the whole team».
On what helped PAOK reach the top of the standings:
«We all play together, as a team, and don’t think about ourselves. If we don’t do that, wins can be tricky. We have a very good team with fine players and we must refrain from mistakes. If we play only for ourselves, we will end up making many errors and teams chasing after us will be able to overtake us in the standings».
On what must be done to hold on to first place:
«I believe we must continue playing as we did, but with even more focus and self-confidence».
On the encounter against PAS Giannina:
«Such games are very important. If we lose, our self-confidence will drop. We must win and play well. I believe we can do it, by respecting our opponents. If we wiin in Giannina, our morale will be high by the time we play against Olympiacos and the rest of league contenders».
On what he expects from Sunday’s game:
«Our last away game was very tough. We ended up winning, but it was hard. We must do the same this Sunday as well. Start into the match with the same mentality to fight and win».
