Panionios supremacy in these fixtures is largely own to the club’s glorious early years in the top flight, which has faded considerably in recent years, and PAOK is beginning to catch their opponents from Nea Smyrni.

#PAOK has chalked up three wins, one draw and one defeat in the last five visits to Nea Smyrni. The three wins all came in the league, as well as the draw, while the loss came in the first leg of the Greek Cup which Panionios won 2-1 on February 6, 2019. PAOK, however, managed to overturn the deficit in the return leg in Thessaloniki and went on to lift the trophy in the final.  The last time the teams met in the league in Nea Smyrni was on September 2, 2018 with PAOK winning thanks to a goal from Omar El Kaddouri.
