Tziolis wins first individual award
In June Christos Tziolis made his debut with the first team, while he also scored his first goal in the top flight in only his second appearance. And now the young forward has won his first individual award in the shape of the Regency Casino Best Goal of the month.
In June Christos Tziolus grabbed the chance given to him by coach Abel Ferreia with both hands, demonstrating that he was more than ready to play at the top level.
In the match against Olympiacos on Matchday 1 of the Play Offs he made his debut, while he also came off the bench against OFI Crete at the Toumba Stadium to score the equalizing goal for the Dikefalos tou Vorra with a stunning strike.
Dimitris Giannoulis had pushed forward into an attacking position, intercepted possession, and sent over a perfect cross for Tziolis, who netted with a brilliant side-footed finish past the Cretans’ goalkeeper Oscar Whalley.
In the voting which took place via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App, in association with Regency Casino, Tziolis’ memorable strike came out on top, winning 85,53% of the vote for June’s best goal.
In second place was Fernando Varela’s header at Harilaou from Miroslav Stoch’s set-piece, while Karol Swiderski was third with his goal in the same match against Aris.
