Sznaucer: «We want revenge»
Miroslav Sznaucner shared his thoughts and insights on the upcoming Super League Interwetten Matchday local derby against Aris to the Novasports cameras. Read what the Pole said on paokfc.gr.
On the current status of PAOK:
«The team is ready, we don’t have any problems. All the players are available and ready to play, we do not have any fresh injuries or suspension issues. We have many options available to us and can’t wait for the game.»
On the up and down nature of PAOK’s performances of late:
«We are working hard on that, this is why we spend time analyzing the games. We want to have stability. We are playing well in five to six games and we get in a position where we are happy, and then suddenly there’s a match that comes along in which we see that something is wrong, and things are spoiled. That’s why we have to work on our game more. The key word is concentration. We have a lot of games ahead of us, and it’s vital that we are show concentration so we can deal with them in the way that we want.»
On the game with Aris:
«It’s a local derby, and so by default it’s a difficult game. But I don’t think we have anything to be afraid of. We remember the first game we played against them away from home, when we lost in an unfair way. We could have won, and we want to make sure that we win tomorrow.»
On what kind of derby match he expects:
«It’s a game that requires complete concentration. We have the quality. We need to win, and we want to exact revenge. The defeat by Aris earlier in the season hurt, and we want to get the three points.»
On whether the psychological aspect plays a more important role in determining the result than tactics:
«The tactical approach will play the bigger role. Psychologically everyone knows what awaits us, and everyone wants to win. So clearly for us, the tactics aspect will play the most important role.»
On the importance of Vieirinha’s contract renewal:
«Vieirinha is very important to us in the dressing rooms, and both on and off the pitch. He is our leader, he talks to everyone, the most experienced coaches and players, the youngest players, and is a very useful person for PAOK. We are very happy to have him with us for another season.»
