In the third game in a row against Panathinaikos, PAOK got what they wanted for the third time in succession as well, this time the prize being a ticket to the semi-finals of the 2022-23 Greek Cup. The home team, with their backs against the wall, gave it their all in a tough encounter, but Razvan Lucescu’s Double-Headed Eagle were… unstoppable.

Although the visitors may have found themselves behind early on, a penalty from Nelson Oliveira levelled the scores at 1-1, with the black and whites leaving Athens triumphant.

The Portuguese forward was outstanding for yet another game. He battled constantly with the home defenders, taking plenty of touch tackles, but also leading the frontline brilliantly, helping out also in defense. And of course, he showed the required composure from the penalty spot.

And in the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match, it was Oliveira who collected 77.47% of the votes to win the individual award.

The podium was completed by Yiannis Konstantelias and Joan Sastre, who were both pivotal for PAOK.
