Preparations for derby get underway
The week started with a victory over Levadiakos, and it will end with a big derby showdown against Olympiacos at the Toumba. After some much needed rest, the players and coaching staff started work in earnest ahead of the upcoming… battle in Thessaloniki.
Wednesday’s (01.02) training session started with the customary warm-ups and possession games. The players were then divided into two groups and worked alternately on the attacking aspects of their game, including finishing practice after various types of combination plays. In the last part of the session the two groups played out a mini-friendly contest.
Nicolas Quagliata trained as normal with the team, Thomas Murg and Omar El Kaddouri did some individual work outside on the training pitches, Lefteris Lyratzis and Jasmin Kurtic did a special program in the gym, while Andre Vieirinha began treatment to overcome the medial problem he sustained in the game against Levadeiakos.
On Thursday (02.02) PAOK will train at 11:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
