Under-16’s kick off season with two…men’s competitions
The educational process at the top competitive levels require competition. Therefore, in the absence of a league for the Under-16 age category, PAOK insists on educating and training the Under-16 side at the senior men’s level. And this season the PAOK Academy’s Under-16 team will continue to play in the local amateur leagues, but also in the MFCA Cup.
The start for this season will be in the Macedonian Football Clubs Association (MFCA) Cup. The first match is against Anagennisi Epanomi in Efkarpia (PAOK’s home), which will be held on Sunday 08.09 at 17:00. The MFCA League is also expected to start on September 28 and 29, with PAOK also being invited to face the following teams in the 3rd group: Olympiacos Thessaloniki, Anagennisi Ag. Ioannis, Revival of N. Epivaton, PO Malakopi Pylaia, Doxa Trilofos, Apollon Kato Scholariou, AE Elpida Toumbas, Niki Mesemeriou, Achilleas Peria, Ethnikis Pylaia, Revival of Rysios, Marathon, Bam, Panorama, and Revival of Epanomi. On Matchday 1 they will face Anagennisi Epanomi away from home.
The Under-16 side of the 2024-25 season are youngsters born in 2009, and given that this is an amateur league, we should emphasize that professionals do not have the right to participate in it. This team are last year’s Under-15 champions in the Super League, but also champions of the MFCA Under-17 championship and now they continue under the guidance of Lefteris Kanatas and his associates. Fyntanis Karakottas (goalkeeper), Achilleas Papanikopoulos (midfielder), Stylianos Vlachos (forward) and Ioannis Psyroukis (defender) have been added to the squad.
