Ahead of PAOK’s Matchday 3 2025-26 Stoiximan Super League contest against OFI in Heraklion, paokfc.gr puts you in the picture about the background to the match, as well as a look back at our previous encounters against the Cretan side.
- In the last 11 meetings with OFI in Crete, PAOK have recorded five wins, four draws and two defeats. PAOK, after two matches without a win in Heraklion – in 2022-23 there was a 1-1 draw and in 2023-24 they lost 1-0 – last year prevailed 5-0.
- Five matches passed between OFI’s last two victories, but almost nine years, since from February 4, 2015 we had to reach September 3, 2023 for the second. In 2015, PAOK prevailed 3-1 in Crete with coach Nikos Anastopoulos, while Angelos Anastasiadis was in the Double-headed Eagle’s dugout. The goals for the Cretans were scored by Lambropoulos, and Koutsianikoulis, while for PAOK Dimitris Papadopoulos was on target in the 3-1 defeat.
- The last time OFI recorded two consecutive victories over PAOK was about 20 years ago, when in 2005-06 (2-1), 206-07 (1-0) and 2007-08 (2-0) they registered three consecutive ones. Since then, in 14 games PAOK have only lost twice. Overall, PAOK have recorded 8 victories in 14 visits to Crete in the Greek championship and Greek Cup, and in 6 of them they have not conceded a single goal.
- The first time the two teams had met in their history was in the 1968-69 season, when OFI made its debut in the old First National League. Then the first match took place at the Toumba Stadium with PAOK prevailing 4-1 (33′, 36′ Koudas, 44′ Aslanidis, 89′ Lazos – 60′ Karakyriakos). In Heraklion the game ended in a draw 1-1 (75′ Papoutsakis – 89′ Mitrakas).
- In total, 47 matches have been played at OFI’s home ground and PAOK have 10 wins, the Cretan team 23, while there have also been 14 draws.
- PAOK have three wins with a 2-0 result, while the most popular scoreline in their matches is 2-1 in favor of OFI with eight occurences. In total, PAOK have produced five different winning scores with 0-1, 1-3 and 0-3 having appeared twice each. There was also one 3-2 victory recorded.
