PAOK B ready for Super League 2 curtain raiser
Fully renewed, but steadfast in its goal, which is none other than the smooth transition of our players from youth to men’s football, PAOK B begin their journey in their fifth season in the Super League 2 championship. The Double-headed Eagle kicks off their competitive obligations in Volos against Niki Volou, with the match scheduled for Monday 15.09 at 17:00.
With Nikos Karageorgiou in the dugout and the same technical staff, to which Savvas Konstantinidis was added as assistant coach, the team is a mix of youth and experience but with a low average age. It has the «old» ones that remained, i.e. those who were promoted from the U-19’s (2006 and 2007), several new faces, but also some even younger ones, born in 2008. It goes without saying, of course, that the men’s team, PAOK B and the U-19′s will be closely connected vessels.
During the pre-season preparations, in Thessaloniki and Volakas, Drama, PAOK B played ten friendly games. They won seven of them (Panserraikos, Doxa Dramas, Aetos Ofryniou, Apollon Kryas Vrysis, Apollon Kalamaria, Iraklis Thermaikos, Anagennisi Karditsas) and lost three (Kalamata, Niki Volou, Kampaniakos).
The regular season of the championship includes 18 games, which will be played over two rounds. For the first nine matches of Group A, the draw for PAOK is as follows:
Niki Volou – PAOK B
PAOK B – Anagennisi Karditsas
PAS Giannina – PAOK B
PAOK B – Asteras AKTOR B
Kavala – PAOK B
POT Iraklis Fournoi Veneti – PAOK B
PAOK B – Nestos Chrysoupolis
PAOK B – Makedonikos
Kampaniakos – PAOK B
Regarding the format of the Super League 2 championship for the 2025-26 season, the league organisers have decided on two groups of ten teams. After the end of the regular season, the teams in positions 1 to 4 will play Play Offs and those from positions 5 to 10 will compete in the Play Outs.
Two teams are promoted (the first of each group) and eight are relegated (four of each group). The championship announcement therefore foresees the relegation of eight teams, the promotion of four from the Third Division and the holding of the championship of the 2026–2027 season with 16 teams.
In Group A, the following will participate: PAOK B, POT Iraklis Fournoi Veneti, PAS Giannina, Makedonikos, Kampaniakos, Niki Volou, Anagennisi Karditsas, Kavala, Nestos Chrysoupolis, Asteras AKTOR B and in Group B: Athens Kallithea, Egaleo, Hellas Syrou, Ilioupoli, Kalamata, Markos, Panionios, Olympiacos B, Chania, Panargeakos.
