100 years of PAOK: One team, one forest
On the occasion of PAOK’s centenary celebrations, and the World Forestry Day (March 21st), PAOK FC honors the past and invests in the future, organizing the symbolic planting of 1,926 trees. A historic anniversary for PAOK, a living legacy for the city.
The initiative took place on Friday (20.03) in the suburban forest of Toumba, behind the Chariseio Nursing Home, with Alexander Jeremejeff and Anestis Mythou each planting their own tree. The Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Central Macedonia Reforestation Directorate, the Macedonia Nursery, the 12th Vocational High School of Thessaloniki and the company Biosolids participated in the tree planting, sending a strong message of environmental sensitivity and social responsibility.
The choice of the day is not accidental. International Forestry Day, which is celebrated on March 21 and coincides with the spring equinox, which occurred at 16:45 on Friday, March 20, reminds us of the importance of protecting and enhancing our natural wealth. The 1,926 trees — one for each year since the club’s founding — are taking root in the land of Thessaloniki, symbolizing PAOK’s deep connection with the city and its commitment to a more sustainable tomorrow.
