Isokinetic Conference: PAOK among the elite of global football medicine
The presence of PAOK and the PAOK Academy at a high-level scientific environment confirms the club’s continuous investment in knowledge, development and implementation of modern practices in the field of athletic performance and rehabilitation.
Between April 18–20, the XXXIII Isokinetic Conference was held in Athens, at the Athens Concert Hall, with the theme “Football Medicine – Return to Performance”, one of the most important international conferences in the field of football medicine and rehabilitation.
PAOK was dynamically represented by executives from its medical and scientific staff:

The conference covered a wide range of topics around football medicine, injury rehabilitation and the process of reintegration and return to competitive action (Return to Performance). As part of the conference, PAOK participated with a scientific paper presentation (poster) for the first time. The title of the paper was “Return to Play Following ACL Reconstruction: A Case Report of an Elite Youth Soccer Player”. The presentation was made by Dimitris Petrakis, while the paper was also contributed by Giannis Rallis (first team doctor), Argyris Karavelis, Iraklis Giannaros (PAOK Academy Doctor) and Giorgos Gagkalis (Head of PAOK Academy Physiotherapists).
The three-day conference was a meeting point for leading scientists and professionals in world football, with the participation of specialized doctors, physiotherapists and exercise scientists from all over the world. Among them, doctors and executives from leading European clubs, such as Manchester City, BayernMunich, Milan, Inter, and Bologna, as well as representatives of organizations and teams such as Real and Aspetar.
