Argyrios Karavelis was born in Kavala, but grew up in Thessaloniki. From the age of nine he played football in the academies at PAOK, but medicine won him over. The PAOK B doctor is now a graduate of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in orthopedic surgery.
In 2013 he was a general practitioner at the General Hospital of Halkidiki,while from 2013 to 2018 he was a specialist orthopedic doctor at the General Hospital of Kavala, and from 2016 to 2018 he was a orthopedic doctor at the First University Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In October 2018 he completed his specialty in Orthopedic Surgery.
His CV mentions a number of scientific keynote presentations, educational seminars, conference attendances, as well as two important publications. In the journal MOJ Orthopedics & Rheumatology, the paper on «Basic Science in Rotator Cuff Tears» was published in 2015 and in 2017 the paper «Extensor Mechanism’s Anatomy at the Metacarpophalangeal Joint».
The PAOK Academy doctor was also a member of the PAOK academies from Under-10s to Under-20, with whom he even celebrated a Super League championship in 2003. He was a goalkeeper and from 2003 to 2015 he played for several Football League teams, as well as for amateur clubs. He is married and the father of one child.
