Jonny, full name Jonathan Castro Otto, was born on March 3, 1994 in Vigo, Spain. He started out in Celta’s youth ranks and made his debut with the first team in a Copa del Rey match against Almería on 31 October 2012.

The Spanish full-back stayed at Vigo for six seasons, making 221 appearances, scoring five goals and dishing out 12 assists, also playing on both sides of the defensive flanks. His performances caught the eye of Atletico Madrid, who spent €7,000,000 to sign him in July 2018, immediately loaning him to Wolves.

His performances in the Premier League were impressive. In the first half of the campaign at Wolverhampton he registered  21 appearances and scored one goal, also contributing one assist, and in January 2019 Wolves offered €21,000,000 to Atletico Madrid and acquired the full rights to the player.

In total at Wolves he played in 134 games, scoring six goals and providing five assists, numbers that could have been significantly higher had he not suffered two serious injuries in the 2020-21 season that kept him out of action for 16 months.

In 2018 he was called up by the Spain national team after having made 32 appearances at Under-21, Under-20 and Under-19 level combined, also winning the 2013 European Championship with the latter.

After a long career in LaLiga and the Premier LeagueJonny is now ready to write a new chapter in his career with PAOK.
