Marcos Antonio was born on June 13, 2000 in Pocoes, Brazil and like every child in the country of coffee, he «fell in love» with football, at… first sight. He started in the youth departments of Atlético Paranaense, before moving to Portugal with Estoril.

He stayed in Estoril for just seven months, played in six games and provided two assists. In February 2019, Shakhtar Donetsk offered 3,500,000 million euros to Estoril and made the then 18-year-old defensive midfielder their own. At Shakhtar he won two championships, a Ukrainian Cup and a Super Cup, made 101 appearances, scored nine times and provided five assists in four seasons.

His performances in Ukraine piqued the interest of Lazio, who acquired him in 2022 for €7.5 million. In one season in Italy he made 22 appearances, scoring one goal and serving up one assist.

Marcos Antonio is now ready for new adventures in Thessaloniki in the black and white shirt.
