Berbatov’s MRI and Arnesen’s goodbye

The break helped PAOK players decompress both physically and mentally, before they began preparing for the upcoming encounter against Panathinaikos in Leoforos.

16.02.2016

The session consisted of ball circulation drills with fast passing and tactical work, concluding with a training match in reduced space.

Dimitar Berbatov did an MRI that confirmed a 2nd-degree quadriceps strain. He is expected to return to trainings in six weeks. The player has been granted a leave of absence and he will spend the first part of his recovery in Bulgaria.

Meanwhile, the medical team of PAOK examined Garry Rodrigues and Jairo again who are doing much better, however they will rejoin trainings as earlier predicted: Rodrigues in three weeks time and Jairo in four.

Stefanos Athanasiadis did physiotherapy, while Panagiotis Glykos did recuperation work and followed part of the goalkeepers’ training. As for Νikos Korovesis, he started ball drills.

Gojko Cimirot, Miguel Vítor and Giorgos Tzavellas followed a special decompression program of jogging and gym drills. Dimitris Pelkas trained on his own out of precaution.

Frank Arnesen visited Nea Mesimvria on Tuesday to bid farewell to the players and coaching staff, thank them for their collaboration and wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.

The training session of Wednesday is scheduled to begin at noon in Nea Mesimvria. Before that, all players will undergo blood tests.
