Ahead of PAOK’s Matchday 9 2024-25 Stoiximan Super League contest against OFI at the Toumba, paokfc.gr puts you in the picture about the background to the match, as well as a look back at our previous encounters against the Cretans from Heraklion.
- PAOK will host OFI for a match in the first round of the championship for the first time since the 2020-21 season. In fact, their last three matches at the Toumba took place in January.
- OFI had managed to record a streak of three consecutive matches without defeat against PAOK in two of their matches in Crete and one in Thessaloniki, where on January 14, 2023 the two teams drew 0-0.
- In 2024, however, in PAOK’s first match of the year, they beat OFI 4-0 with goals from Despodov (39′), Baba (41′), Marcos Antonio (89′) and Brandon Thomas (90′).
- The two previous times that PAOK welcomed OFI was again in the first month of the year, on January 15, 2022 where they won 3-0 (55′ Kurtic, 76′ Kurtic, 84′ Swiderski), and on January 14, 2023, with the match that ended in a goalless draw.
- That 0-0 draw between the two teams ended PAOK’s streak of eight consecutive wins over OFI at the Toumba, and together with their Greek Cup clash in 2019-20 it was nine.

- A total of 47 matches have been played between the two teams at PAOK’s home ground, and PAOK have recorded 38 wins, the Cretan team 1 win, and 8 of them have ended in draws.
- On September 22, 1968, OFI, then newly formed, played its first match at the top flight level against PAOK at the Toumba. The Double-headed Eagle led 3-0 at halftime with two goals from Giorgos Koudas (33′, 37′) and one by Aslanidis (45′), and in the second half his performance dropped off. Karakyriakos (59′) reduced the deficit to 3-1 and Lazos (88′) then added a fourth to make it 4-1.
- Omar El Kaddouri scored PAOK’s 100th goal against OFI in the 2020-21 match between the two teams at the Toumba. Out of a total of 105 goals, only one has come from an own goal and it was by Kostas Pavlopoulos. Koudas, Kostikos, Salpingidis, and Akpom are the four PAOK players who have found the net five times in a home match against OFI, while Orfanos and Athanasiadis have three each.
