PAOK B secure important point
PAOK B continues to collect points, earning an important draw (1-1) against Asteras AKTOR B from their Super League 2, Matchday 13 clash, which took place on Saturday afternoon in Peristeri.
The Double-headed Eagle are now on 15 points after 13 games, maintaining fifth place, but despite the excellent effort the team are putting in, it seems that they will not make it to the play-offs.
PAOK was somewhat better in the first 20 minutes of the match, although they neither threatened particularly, nor was threatened. Apart from a shot by Kalogiros in the ninth minute and another by Fribong in the 24th minute, there was not much else to show from the first half. Except, unfortunately, for the one and only negligence in the defensive line, which allowed Simonis to put the home team ahead in the 32nd minute.
After the half-time break, of course, PAOK were even more dynamic and threatening, and pressed for the equalizer. They came very close to scoring twice with Kosidis, in the 50th minute and in the 56th minute. The young defender’s third chance, however, was the one that found the target.
Mustma was brought down in the area, Kosidis then successfully converted the penalty in the 67th minute and PAOK made it 1-1.
The team were not satisfied with the draw as they looked for a winning goal to produce an upset, which however did not come.
The next game for PAOK B is a home match against Kavala, although for many of our players the big match against Legia Warsaw at the Toumba (09.12, 17:30), and the attempt to qualify for the Round of 32 of the Youth League follows.
