«Good defence is due to team work»
José Ángel Crespo spoke to Novasports TV ahead of the encounter against Apollon Smyrni, corresponding to Super League Souroti matchday 18.
On Sunday’s game:
«We are in good shape. But we have to prove it on the pitch as well, this Sunday. Top-ranked teams record successive victories and we must avoid mistakes«.
On the team’s defensive performance:
«Having conceded few goals is due to team work. It’s not just the defenders and the goalkeepers, but defensive work starts from the strikers. We are a compact side and work well on the pitch. If we keep clean sheets, we have an advantage«.
On what will decide the league title:
«All matches are important, not just the clashes with direct rivals. This is a question we won’t be able to answer until the end. It would be best to win the league with five matches to go, but I don’t believe that will be the case. We need to stay focused until the last game. We have a good team and must prove it on the pitch, in order to achieve our objectives«.
On the differences with the Apollon encounter of the first round of fixtures:
«The main difference is that we are getting good results. We are in a good momentum now, playing in our home ground and we need to keep our winning ways«.
