“It was a hard-fought victory against a tough opponent. We weren’t good in the first half, we weren’t the team we aspired to be. We changed after the interval though. We closed up spaces, rectified many things and the final result speaks for itself actually.

I want to score. I was looking for that goal and netted it. I want to dedicate it to my daughter who always asks me to score and to my father-in-law on his birthday. I was sure I would score, given the spot of the set piece.

A very important player left the team. But we have other players to get the job done, such as Akpom. We continue on our way. The team is the most important –players come and go.

Paschalakis kept us into the match. It’s important to have such a goalkeeper who can have your back at any time.

We take it one game and a time –we don’t change that. Our loss to Panachaiki upset us, but there is a second leg ahead. The next encounter is always the most important one. There are three home matches ahead, we need to win them all until the AEK game in order to maintain our distance from the rest.”

“Two different halves, two different performances. Paschalakis kept us into the match in the firsts half, but we were also denied a legitimate goal. It’s a very important victory for all of us.

(Regarding Vieirinha’s free kick) I didn’t get close to the ball, Maurício didn’t either. We both believed that Vieirinha would do it.

Most people believed we would suffer a setback here, because Asteras are very strong at home. We are sorry to disappoint all those people, but we didn’t lose. We take it one game at a time and next Saturday we have one more final to negotiate.

Akpom is different than Prijović. It’s not easy to get chemistry right away. Hopefully we will score more goals. There is also Karelis in the squad – he is strong and he will get his opportunities.

We take it one game at a time. First we will focus on the Panionios match and then move to the next. That is how things go in a team contending for the league title. It’s important to shut out all the talk around us and continue winning.”

“It was a tough match. We knew that, we were expecting it to be. This time around, we got what we wanted. We committed several errors in the first half, our coach talked to us at half-time and then we scored. It’s an important win for us, as we keep our distance from our rivals in the standings.

I don’t believe we owed anything. We approach each game in a demure way. It’s about getting the points, not who scores. Hopefully we will keep this pace until the end.

I will do my best to help my team. That is what we all do. Shakhov and Cañas have no serious injuries –they will be with us in upcoming games.

Of course we need to change things in our game. Prijović had a different style, Karelis is different, Akpom is also different. We need to adjust to the players featuring now. We have a very good team, a quality squad and we must give it all to get what we want.”
