PAOK were ready to seal the deal in AEL FC Arena and dominated throughout the match. But AEL practically scored with their only noteworthy opportunity in the encounter and stole the point.

The pitch was very poor and didn’t allow Răzvan Lucescu’s players to bring out their quality. As for the home side, they were content to wait in their box for their rivals to take the initiative.

PAOK wasted several good opportunities to break the deadlock in the first half. On a negative note, André Vieirinha had to withdraw with a knee injury, Dimitris Giannoulis coming off the bench to take his place.

Ten minutes into the second half, Dimitris Pelkas gave PAOK the lead with a stunning strike, after AEL defenders failed to clear the ball safely.

The home side equalized with Jakimovski in the 64th minute with their only decent effort in the game.

PAOK pressured to regain their lead, Karol Świderski wasted a huge opportunity in the 68th minute, but the game remained undecided until the end.

Next week, PAOK need a point from their home against Levadiakos to seal the league title.
