Return to OAKA
PAOK continues to lead the way at the top of the Super League after the first four matches of the new season, remaining in the place it has occupied since last season. The team of course want things to stay that way ahead of its first big test of the season – the derby against AEK Athens at OAKA.
PAOK returns to OAKA, aka the Olympic Stadium of Athens, to take on AEK in the Super League but in a match which represents yet another…final between the two teams. It’s fair to say, though, that every match is in fact a final of sorts – from the start to the end of the season. On Thursday (26.09), Abel Ferreira and his players worked on tactics and passing, as much on defense as on attack, through a series of special exercises.
The Portuguese technician was able to welcome Karol Swiderski and Dimitris Giannoulis back to training after both has missed yesterday’s session. Mauricio was also given a full workout, while Andre Vierinha continued his indivisual recovery program as he works his way back to fitness. He is expected to be included in full training with the rest of the squad on Friday.
Dimitris Pelkas continued his individual recovery program with some pool time, while Pontus Wernbloom did the same but in the gym instead of the pool.
On Friday, (27.09) PAOK will train again at 10:15 at the Toumba stadium.
