#Volos FC are the 69th team that PAOK will face in the top flight just a few days after the 60th anniversary of the competition’s inaugural season opening on October 25, 1959. The 68th was Lamia, who PAOK faced last week

#PAOK’s first match in Greece’s top division was against Mega Alexandros Katerinis, the ancestor side of Pierikos and won 3-2 at Toumba (32′ Symeonidis, 34′ Kiourtzis, 47′ Kouiroukidis – 27′ Karafoulidis, 75′ Touloumzidis).

#PAOK is one of only three teams that have never been relegated from the top flight, and this is the club’s 61st consecutive season. Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are the other two teams, while Panionios and AEK are next with 58 seasons under their belt.

#To date, PAOK has played 1915 times in the top division and has 935 wins – 493 draws – 478 losses. The Double-headed Eagle of the North has scored a total of 2,958 goals and conceded 1872. George Koudas is PAOK’s leading appearance-maker, with 504 matches in PAOK colors to his name in the top flight. Stavros Sarafis is the leading scoring with 136 goals.
