  • This is only the fourth time that these two teams are facing each other in the Greek Cup, and interestingly, on the previous three occasions there have been just four matches played, due to the fact that the meetings in 1990-91 and 2009-10 were one-legged knockout ties.
  • On the three previous occasions, PAOK have progressed each time. In the 1990-91 competition, the two teams met in the group stage. From four matches played between the two sides, PAOK has recorded two wins and there have been two draws. In the first leg match of this year’s competition in Heraklion on January 7, 2020, PAOK secured the third win, which was also by the biggest scoreline (0-3).
  • Magdy Tolba is the top scorer in matches between the two clubs in the Greek Cup, while PAOK have had six different scorers. Limnios, Biseswar and Akpom, who scored in the first leg match, added their names to a list which includes Tolba, Salpingidis, and Papazoglou.
  • The first meeting was August 26, 1990 in the then group stage, and again it was the first match of the competition for PAOK. The Dikefalos tou Vorra won the match 2-1, before following that up with a comfortable home win (4-1) over Makedonikos, and then another 2-1 win over Kalamata after that on September 2, 1990.
  • In the 2002-03 season, PAOK eliminated OFI after two draws. The first was a 0-0 stalemate on December 19, 2002 at the Toumba, which was followed by a 1-1 draw in Crete on January 8, 2003. Soares opened the scoring for OFI on 23 minutes but Salpingidis leveled in the 61st, sending PAOK through on away goals. Those matches, like today»s match, were in the Round of 16 of the competition, while then PAOK went on to lift the trophy.
  • The next meeting was October 28, 2009 when PAOK won 1-0 in Crete in a knock-out match with Thanasis Papazoglou the scorer.
