Tactics and Covid-19
As the eve of the Super League premiere approaches, Abel Ferreira is preparing his team under difficult circumstances with cautionary measures due to Covid-19 and the return of his players from international duty.
On Tuesday (08.09) the PAOK sqaud worked on tactics. The training session kicked off with some jogging and then running exercises, as well a some fitness drills with elastic exercise bands, and then afterwards there was a game of rondo, while at the end the players played out a friendly match with specific tactical instructions centered on attacking build-up play.
Douglas Augusto and Rodrigo trained individually. Dimitris Limnios, who has tested positive for Covid 19, is self-quarantining at home without having displayed any symptoms.
Alexandros Paschalakis has been kept away from training due to the fact that he was sharing a room with Limnios while on international duty with Greece. The Greek international goalkeeper’s test came back negative, but he has been kept away from training and will be tested again on Wednesday (09.09).
Giannoulis, Michailidis, Tziolis, and Ingason all returned from international duty having tested negative for Covid-19 and trained individually. They will also submit another test, as will the rest of the PAOK squad, on Wednesday (09.09).
Balogiannis, and Tsiggaras, who are awaiting the results of their Covid-19 tests after being away on international duty with Greece’s Under-21 side, trained individually at a different time to the rest of the group.
The Double-headed Eagle players will be back in for training at Nea Mesimvria on Wednesday (09.09) at 10:00.
