Honours even as PAOK B draw with Xanthi
The Super League 2 championship may not yet have kicked off, but the teams awaiting the big kick-off continue to keep themselves sharp through training and friendly matches until the authorities finally make their decisions. And so PAOK B met Xanthi in Pigadia, coming away with a 0-0 draw.
PAOK B continued their preparation for the start of the new season with a strong friendly test away at Xanthi on Saturday (02.10) afternoon. The Double-headed Eagle came away from Pigadia with a goalless draw, with the team producing a solid performance despite the many lineup changes and the use of all available players.
The game had good rhythm, as well as strength and intensity shown from both teams who were clearly in the mood for a battle. There were opportunities for both sides to score, but unfortunately the ball did not end up in the back of net at either end.
PAOK came closest to scoring through Gaitanidis, but the visiting forward was not able to convert his penalty kick effort and was thwarted by the opposing goalkeeper.
